China-Arab Reform and Development Center: A Bridge to Prosperity for the Middle East

In April 2017, the China-Arab Reform and Development Center was inaugurated at Shanghai International Studies University, becoming a bridge for deepening cooperation between China and Arab countries. Over the past seven years, the Center has closely aligned with the strategic goal of "strengthening and expanding," actively promoting in-depth cooperation between the Middle East and China, particularly in governance and talent development.

As an important partner for Middle Eastern countries, the Center has provided training for 517 officials, scholars, and media professionals from the region. These participants have learned from China’s reform and development experience and have brought these insights back to their home countries to support local development. Some have returned to China to take on key roles, significantly contributing to the enhancement of China-Arab relations.

The Center has not only promoted academic cooperation between Middle Eastern countries and China but has also actively organized experts to voice their perspectives on international platforms, guiding public opinion and fostering consensus on major issues. Additionally, through platforms such as the China-Arab Think Tank Alliance and the China-Arab Reform and Development Forum, the Center has facilitated deep dialogue and cooperation in political, economic, and cultural fields.

Looking ahead, the Center will continue to leverage its strengths in talent development, think tank research, and cultural exchanges to support sustainable development in Middle Eastern countries and contribute to the further deepening of China-Arab relations.
